Position Summary

As an FSQA (Food Safety & Quality Assurance) Supervisor, you’ll lead a team of FSQA Technicians to ensure food safety, regulatory compliance, and product quality across our bakery operations. You’ll play a key role in continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining our commitment to excellence in food manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all international, federal, state, and local food regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA, Preventive Controls).

• Maintain GFSI standards (e.g., BRC, SQF) and documentation control of the Quality Management System (QMS).

• Collaborate with operations and support teams to ensure product safety, legality, and quality.

• Oversee and improve bakery performance with a focus on Critical to Quality Control Points (CTQCP).

• Lead root cause analysis for product/process failures and implement corrective actions.

• Manage and train FSQA Technicians; build skills matrices and development plans.

• Serve as backup to the FSQA Manager during audits or regulatory inspections.

• Monitor raw materials from approved suppliers and ensure compliance with specifications.

• Participate in the bakery’s Food Safety Culture (e.g., SIFIRI program) and Environmental Monitoring Program.

• Contribute to department KPIs and company-wide targets.

• Perform supervisory duties: hiring, coaching, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field, or equivalent experience in the food industry.

• 3+ years of manufacturing or quality experience, including supervisory responsibilities.

• In-depth knowledge of food safety systems such as HACCP, HARPC, GFSI, BRC, SQF.

• PCQI and HACCP certification preferred.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Detail-oriented with strong computer proficiency.
