Position Summary

Under the direction of the Bakery Supervisor, the Production Operator plays a critical role in coordinating the daily operations of the Packaging and Retail Bagging departments. This position ensures production schedules are met efficiently and safely, while maintaining product quality and adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily packaging and retail bagging tasks as directed by the Packaging Supervisor.

• Assign and organize team responsibilities to meet production goals.

• Verify operational status of metal detectors and conduct regular tests per QA protocols.

• Monitor blast freezer and product core temperatures to maintain required specifications.

• Check product appearance and condition to ensure quality standards are met.

• Troubleshoot and report equipment maintenance needs.

• Set up and monitor inkjet coders to ensure accuracy and legibility of printed information.

• Confirm proper application and placement of lot codes, barcodes, use-by dates, and labels.

• Ensure sufficient availability of packaging materials (cartons, labels, bags, pallets, etc.).

• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to transport products, including freezer loading/unloading.

• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), quality, and safety procedures in line with company and regulatory requirements.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

• Forklift certification is a plus.

• Familiarity with inventory control software is beneficial.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
