About the Role:
As a Project Engineer at Schreiber Foods, you'll take ownership of capital project development and execution while supporting ongoing plant engineering needs. You'll collaborate across departments and lead cross-functional teams-including internal partners, external engineering firms, contractors, and regulatory agencies-to drive project success and enhance operational performance.
This role provides an opportunity to lead meaningful technical projects that support innovation, growth, and continuous improvement across the organization.
What You'll Do:
Lead cross-functional teams through the planning and execution of capital projects.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, food sanitation regulations, and government requirements.
Develop and communicate clear project plans, timelines, and progress updates to stakeholders.
Provide technical expertise in equipment selection, vendor negotiations, and process improvements.
Support plant operations with troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and technical recommendations.
Mentor and assist in cross-training partners in various engineering functions.
Utilize enterprise project management tools (EPM) to enhance project execution and collaboration.
Conduct cost-benefit analysis and prepare business cases for capital expenditures.
Drive process innovation and implement new technologies to improve plant capability and profitability.
Ensure customer and regulatory compliance by defining, auditing, and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Preventive Control Points (PCPs), and Critical Control Points (CCPs).
Collaborate on corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and process deviations.
What You Need to Succeed:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience in electrical controls such as PLC programming, servos, and VFDs.
Strong project leadership and cross-functional team coordination skills.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
Desire for growth, new challenges, and ongoing professional development.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
