Sandwich Cook

Job Summary:

Corner Bakery is looking for a fast, friendly, and detail-focused Sandwich Cook to join our back-of-house kitchen team. In this key role, you’ll be responsible for preparing a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, paninis, and other grilled menu items with precision and consistency. You’ll work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure orders are completed quickly, correctly, and beautifully—delivering a high-quality dining experience for every guest.

Sandwich Cook Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assemble sandwiches, paninis, and grilled items according to company recipes and portion guidelines

• Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, toasters, and sandwich presses safely and efficiently

• Ensure each order is made accurately and meets quality and presentation standards

• Maintain a clean and organized sandwich station, following food safety and sanitation procedures

• Monitor stock levels of ingredients and communicate shortages to management

• Assist with food prep including slicing meats, cheeses, and vegetables

• Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely and accurate order completion

• Follow opening and closing procedures, including setup and breakdown of station

Sandwich Cook Secondary Functions:

• Support Hot Cook, Salad Cook, and Dishwasher roles during busy hours

• Help with receiving and stocking kitchen supplies and ingredients

• Assist with basic kitchen cleaning tasks and maintenance of equipment

• Participate in cross-training and support other prep or cooking tasks as needed

Sandwich Cook Requirements:

• High school diploma or currently pursuing one

• 3–6 months of experience in a restaurant or sandwich prep role preferred

• Ability to follow recipes and prepare items to specification consistently

• Basic knife skills and knowledge of sandwich preparation and grilling

• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Foodhandler Card or ServSafe certification

• Good communication skills and a positive team attitude

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
