Shift Supervisor

Job Summary:

Corner Bakery is seeking a reliable, motivated, and team-oriented Shift Supervisor to help lead our restaurant operations during assigned shifts. In this key leadership role, you’ll support the General Manager and Assistant Manager by overseeing day-to-day activities, ensuring top-quality service, and maintaining high standards in food, cleanliness, and team performance. You’ll act as a role model for team members and help create a positive and productive work environment.

Shift Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage restaurant operations during assigned shifts to ensure excellent guest service and smooth execution

• Support, train, and motivate team members to perform at their best

• Monitor food quality, cleanliness, and safety procedures to maintain Corner Bakery standards

• Handle customer concerns and resolve issues in a friendly and effective manner

• Manage shift tasks including opening, closing, cash handling, and shift documentation

• Ensure labor and food costs are monitored and controlled during the shift

• Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff to coordinate operations

• Serve as a point of contact for team questions, guidance, and direction during the shift

Shift Supervisor Secondary Functions:

• Assist with onboarding and training new employees

• Step in to support team roles including food prep, service, and cleaning as needed

• Monitor inventory levels and assist in placing orders or managing deliveries

• Participate in team meetings and support implementation of new procedures

Shift Supervisor Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college or restaurant management coursework preferred

• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting

• Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities

• Ability to handle conflict, stay calm under pressure, and make sound decisions quickly

• Proficient in basic POS systems and shift documentation

• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Foodhandler Card or ServSafe certification

• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
