Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our production operations. This hands-on position involves complex repairs, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and computerized systems. You will also work closely with maintenance planners and parts coordinators, ensuring all tasks are properly documented and executed to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct repairs and maintenance on bakery equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and GMP standards

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving PLCs, I/O systems, motors, pumps, pneumatics, and hydraulics

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled; escalate issues that pose high risk to operations

• Coordinate with maintenance planners to update and complete work orders, identifying priorities and material needs

• Inspect and confirm availability of all necessary parts in advance of scheduled maintenance

• Participate in new equipment installations and existing equipment overhauls

• Maintain accurate documentation in the computerized maintenance system (e.g., CMMS)

• Support continuous improvement of maintenance programs and plant reliability

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Supervisor

Qualifications:

• Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred

  • Minimum 4 years experience in industrial maintenance (or 6 years without diploma), focusing on instrumentation, controls, mechanical, and electrical systems

  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs and field devices highly preferred

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in at least three of the following: refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or process controls

  • Ability to interpret complex documentation (P&IDs, electrical schematics, mechanical layouts)

  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance and food manufacturing equipment

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

• Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk throughout shifts

  • Lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs

  • Comfortable working in varied conditions (hot, cold, wet, loud)
