Job Overview

The Beauty Advisor is a key part of Bloomingdale’s vibrant cosmetics floor—the heart of the store. As a product expert and trend-setter, you’ll deliver outstanding customer service and build lasting client relationships. Your role includes make-up application, skincare consultations, and guiding customers through both in-store and online experiences.

Your focus is to engage customers through a welcoming, friendly demeanor while maintaining strong product knowledge, compelling presentations, and a client-first mindset.

Essential Functions

• Create a seamless and engaging in-store experience that builds customer loyalty

• Drive sales by serving both in-store and online customers and utilizing sales technology

• Participate in merchandising, restocking, and operational floor responsibilities

• Provide make-up lessons, skincare consultations, and trend-based product advice

• Maintain the beauty department’s presentation, cleanliness, and brand standards

Qualifications & Competencies

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

• Previous retail or cosmetic sales experience strongly preferred

• Ability to read and understand operating procedures, safety guidelines, and manuals

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking

• Reaching, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and ability to distinguish colors

• Frequent use of computers, handheld devices, and registers

• Ability to lift or move items up to 25 lbs
